Welcome The New Coaches of Gateway

I'd like to welcome our new coaches to our athletic department.  We have 6 new coaches on staff this year.  They all bring the same passion and love of the game and athletes we expect here at Gateway.

Darren Countiss:  Coach Countiss is not new to Gateway.  We were able to hire him on as an elementary PE teacher, Asst. Basketball and Track coach.  He is such a great person and cares about students in a way that would make any school proud to have him a part of their program.  Coach played multiple sports in high school and played football in his collegiate career.  He is just now starting his coaching journey with us.

Gary Franke:  Coach Franke will be our new Head Baseball coach.  He comes to us with extensive coaching experience.  In his early years he was a head baseball coach and athletic director in Wisconsin.  Later moving on to the college level as an assistant baseball coach.  With his connection in the baseball world he moved his family to Texas to work in the Rangers organization and later with the Express minor league organization.  Coach Franke will do a great job molding our baseball players into the Citizen, Scholar, Athletes.

Clifton Creyer: Coach Creyer will be our Asst. Baseball coach.  Coach Creyer brings a lot of energy and excitement to our program.  Being a 4 sport athlete and collegiate baseball player he will be a great resource of knowledge for our athletes here at Gateway.  With his connection to the select baseball world he will do a great job of helping us start our Middle School Baseball program.

Corey Schwartz: Coach Schwartz was hired to coach our middle school volleyball and swim teams.  Coach comes with many years of experience coaching at all levels and sports.  He brings great energy and excitement to our girl’s athletic program.  Try to find a day that he is not smiling and upbeat.

Branden Czarnecki: We hired Coach Z to be the 3rd volleyball and softball coach.  Coach brings a very organized and caring personality to the girl’s athletic program.  He is somewhat new to the coaching world.  He will do a great job of building our girls' confidence in their play on the court and in the classroom.

Chris Zoch:  Coach Zoch comes to us from Jarrell.  He will be our Asst. Lacrosse coach and help out with the 3rd baseball team when he can.  Zoch is another coach with a lot of experience of all levels and sports.  He is also a certified Lacrosse official.  He will help us take our Lacrosse program to the next level.

If you see one of these coaches stop them and introduce yourself and welcome them to the Gateway Family.
